{ this moment }

....Mt. Hood was covered by clouds.
....Mt. St. Helens was hiding.
....Mt. Adams was ducking too low.
....Mt. Reindeer was just a bit too far of a drive to get back before Tyler had to leave for work.
....so we settled for Green Mountain, a volcanic cinder cone in the middle of our city.

yeah. that little hump in the middle of the photo by Tyler's hand was the best volcano (and the nearest shot!) we could scrape together. The storms that rolled through made our Thanksgiving volcano family photo difficult. The morning after, however, we discovered clear blue mocking skies. All volcanoes visible.
But I think I'll treasure this photo anyway. I'm letting go of perfection, it is no longer important to me- our tradition, however, is. I'm perfectly prepared to argue with our own kids someday that this photo does, in fact, count.

I hope you had a lovely Thanksgiving. With Tyler's work schedule, we carved the turkey at midnight!
hopefully that isn't a tradition in the making : )

  3. I wanted to return the favor and drop by for a visit. I have to ask...I have been thinking about a ring tattoo lately and when I saw yours I wanted to know if its true what "they" say...that it is one of the most painful to get...any feedback? Thanks again for stopping by. JennO

  4. Cute picture! Hey- looks like you have a tatoo instead of a wedding ring? My hubby and I are thinking about doing that, as well both dislike wearing rings all the time.... cool!

  6. Yep, I dig the 'letting go of perfection' too. That being said, the photo IS great, and not of the boring kind :)
