east.

we left the sea to go back to our home a few hours inland.
we weren't in a hurry to leave.
this space has always been home to me.
we lingered long enough to watch the sunrise before packing up the car.
watching the sunrise has been a daily practice I've been doing since June-
these days, facing east, I've been meditating on what I need to cut out.
what no longer serves. what fears I can release.
i can feel soulodge's roots digging into my side.
it was special to have my husband join me this time around.

every time we leave the ocean's side, tyler always makes me a promise that he'll get me back here.
it was harder leaving this time, but I still believe him.

  1. Beautiful images and lovely words Laura Emily. In Australia the aborigines - and others - as part of their spiritual practice, is to watch both the sunrise and sunset, they've been doing it for centuries. You sure have a remarkable practice going on there. Love Katie x
